Steps for Admission

Applicants for Morgantown Beauty College, Inc.'s Programs and Courses require a high school diploma or GED. Please refer to the specific program or course for additional requirements.

Step 1

Applicants should complete a Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) as well as research other financial programs that may offer assistance such as WIA, Rehabilitation Services, Veterans Administration, etc.) to determine how to pay for the course.

Step 2

Next, the Applicant submits a non-refundable $50.00 Application Fee and receives the official College Handbook and Catalog as well as all the forms necessary to apply for admission to the desired program or course.

The documents you will need to have for the Cosmetology, Esthetics, Nail Technology, Barber Crossover and Student Instructor Programs are:

• Proof of 12th Grade Education (H.S. Diploma, Transcript or GED)
• Copy of Birth Certificate (Does not have to be certified)
• Copy of Driver's License
• Copy of Social Security Card
• Four (4) Wallet Size Photos showing full face
• $5.00 Money Order payable to WV Board of Barbers & Cosmetologists
• Proof of TB test within past six (6) months
• Proof of Tetanus shot within past (ten) 10 years

The documents you will need to have for the Massage Therapy Program are:

• Proof of 12th Grade Education (H.S. Diploma, Transcript or GED)
• Copy of Birth Certificate (Does not have to be certified)
• Copy of Driver's License
• Copy of Social Security Card
• Documentation of at least one (1) professional massage within six (6) months of applying.

Step 3

Next, the Applicant submits a *refundable $150.00 deposit at the time the Enrollment Agreement is signed. This is not deducted from tuition costs. The Enrollment Agreement specifies how the program is to be paid, your program schedule, start date and anticipated graduation date.

*The $150.00 is refundable up to the first day of class should the student decide to withdraw prior to the start date listed on the signed Enrollment Agreement.

Step 4

Finally, an Orientation Date will be scheduled for the student several days prior to the start date of the program in order to review the College Handbook and Catalog outlining the school policies and procedures.

STUDENTS MUST BE IN UNIFORM:

• Black Scrub Shirt and Pants
(Wal-Mart, Gabriel Brothers - Old Mall)
(Nickel Pub - Collins Ferry Rd.)
• White Socks
• White or Black Leather Shoes (no canvas)

Black Lab Jacket Can be worn with approved uniform. (Sally's Beauty Supply)

STUDENTS MUST BRING STUDENT HANDBOOK EACH DAY:

• Student Handbook is part of the Student Kit

STUDENTS SHOULD BRING:

• Loose Leaf Binder
• Loose Leaf Paper
• Pen/Pencil
• Highlighter

ORIENTATION STARTS AT 9:00 AM UNTIL 4:30 PM
